Challah

Sprinkle 2 packages active yeast and a pinch of sugar over 1 cup warm water and stir to dissolve. Add 2 eggs, 1 egg yolk, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup vegetable oil. Stir in 4 cups bread flour and knead for 10 minutes. Put the dough in an oiled bowl and leave covered until double in volume. Turn the dough out and knead for a couple of minutes then return to the bowl and let it rise again until doubled in volume. Then braid and bake for 35 minutes in a 180 degrees Celsius oven.
