A good way to use up excess apples from my food box.
Cut 6-8 apples into quarters, remove core then half the quarters so you have eighths. Butter a tarte tatin dish or pie dish then add the apples with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg and 1/2 cup water. Bake in 180 degrees celcius oven for 30 minutes so they soften. Meanwhile take 120g butter, 200g brown sugar, and 250g self raising flour and rub with fingers into crumble. Top the spiced apples with the crumble. Bake in oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
